Several chamois running away. These were part of a pack of 11 individuals.
Come and see. Please, feel free to make comments, nice or otherwise, everything is appreciated.

@Rhys: This was done with spot metering on the chamois and forcing a shutter speed of 1/640 to compensate for the zoom (+/-300mm) and hoping for the best... let's praise the Nikon D70s!
Simply superb, everything about the exposure is in place. The running chamois reminds me of those very first victorian drums whereby the viewer would see an image in a different position psuedo motion.

@Observing: I did think of these devices too when I saw the result, and I cropped a little to reinforce the similarity. Thanks for the comment!
Great photo! I've never seen more than 2 chamois in the same place. I love the contrast of the color of the sky and the color of the rocks!

@Cecilia: Thanks! I remember some 20 years ago seeing packs of 40 individuals or more in this same area. Unfortunatelly, chamois don't have now any significant natural predator (large eagles, wolves) and the populations grow out of control and are prone to epidemias that decimate them... Anyway, it's a nice spectacle when you see them.
This is a unique shot because of its implied symmetry. It's kind of cool how the animals are almost equally spaced along the radius of the hill. They are like the index marks on a compass. One could almost expect all this to proceed into a complete circle. Interesting!

@Henry: After watching the whole episode, I got the impression that these animals tend to keep an even distance between them when crossing a "dangerous" pass: in this case because they were passing between 2 groups of humans: us and another couple who completely missed the spectacle that was developing some 50 meters behind them... Lucky us.
tens bon ull tiu, és un fet palés !
