@Margie: Glad you like it. The juxtaposition was quite evident as a walked by the mark and I just took advantage of it...
there is a low key feel to these which I like, nice work.

@Rhys: Thank you for your comment. When I converted the original photo to B&W I tried to convey the sense of light that was all around that hiking afternoon, this is why there is little tonal range within the photo.
An amazing image of the pyrenees, I can't decide about the rock in the foreground, I think it distracts from the mountains. (personal view)

@Observing: Interesting. I appreciate very much (really) this criticism... because you get a lot out of criticisms to improve your shooting. In this case, I'd agree with you if this was meant as a lone photography, but I see it as part of a larger series on mountain b&w pictures, some of which I've posted here. Most do not include any significant foreground, and this picture is meant to be some sort of (failed?) attempt to counterbalance the other pictures. I also plan to include a few closeups of rocks to cover the full spectrum...
